Jumeirah Islands Team (JIT) talks to Reginald (RK) and Jenny King (JK) – a British couple, who live in a villa in Jumeirah Islands with their two dogs and four cats.
Their dogs are Hercules, a male English Mastiff and Amber, a female English Mastiff. Their cats are Quickims, Hoppy, Tanginy, Shoehorn and Febi, who is blind.
JIT: Are you happy with Jumeirah Islands?
RK: I’m very happy with Jumeirah Islands. Because the place is so peaceful and quiet helped me get over the fact very quickly that we had not moved to a golf course community!
JIT: When did you move to Jumeirah Islands?
RK: We were one of the first few residents to get possession of the villas back in September 2005. We’ve been living here for over 18 months now. Moving houses is always a strain but we were happy with the process and we are now fully settled here.
JIT: What do you think of Jumeirah Islands as a development?
RK: There are some great aspects about this development. It has a very low population density and lots of green spaces. We particularly enjoy the drive through the community to our villa where we can admire the scenery. And things will only get better as more community facilities open which will help us interact better with our neighbours.
JIT: The convenience store is scheduled to open soon which will benefit all Jumeirah Islands residents. Once opened a supermarket, laundry, pharmacy, restaurant and coffee shop will soon follow.
JIT: What are your views on the community as a whole?
RK: It’s a really great community. We’re looking forward to a time when there are events which will help build a true community spirit.
JK: It would have been great if the community facilities were ready when we moved in but we are looking forward to seeing the benefit of these facilities when they become available soon.
JIT: Is this home for you?
RK: Dubai is definitely the place where we want to retire and our Jumeirah Islands house is where we call home. We have also invested in The Palm but prefer the peace and tranquility that Jumeirah Islands offers.
JK: We’re real animal lovers and Jumeirah Islands provides a perfect place for our pets to live. We walk around the beautiful lakes and our dogs enjoy it just as much as we do!
